                                                                                         The Tao of One Thing
                                                                                                       By Peter Hill

“We become what we repeatedly do.” Aristotle said this in 300 B.C. and it still rings true today. If we drink one soda a day that has 250
calories in it, eat one candy bar that has 300 calories, all of a sudden we can see how one thing becomes many things and that one thing
becomes our weight, our health, our life. The opposite also applies. If we eat one salad, drink one water, skip one soda, walk one mile,
practice one form, stretch one time a day then our whole life trajectory lands us in a different dimension from the first path. Choosing to
put exercise into one part of our day on a regular basis does all of the following:

   - aids in the prevention of disease and can stop or turn around diabetes
   - helps strengthen muscles, joints and improves cellular function
   - improves quality of life through quality of movement
   - reduces stress and relieves emotional, mental and physical tension
   - promotes restful sleep – try it instead of sleeping aids
   - promotes optimal bone density
   - strengthens circulation and lung function
-promotes self confidence, self esteem and decreases depression
   - plus much more

So at the end of today, take a moment and think about all the one things you are doing
on a daily basis and look at where those “one things” will lead you 1, 5 and 10 years from now. If you don’t like where it is leading, change
the one thing you are doing here and there to different one things that will take you where you want to be and in to who you want to be.
Use “I become what I repeatedly do” as a way to remind yourself of the power of one action, one step, one bite. The Chinese say it very
well with the slogan, “The thousand mile journey starts with one step”. Enjoy the journey!
